Pre-Requisite: Diocesan NFP Introduction for marriage requirement. Series Includes:

• Couples taught to recognize fertility based on visual observations and sensation of cervical mucus only. Following the rules of this method and recording daily signs, the couple will be able to recognize the beginning and end of their fertile cycle.
• Private one-on-one classes taught at Morning Star OB/GYN medical office; courses taught by certified instructors.
• Simple, easy to learn, user-friendly charting
• Class materials needed for method being taught
• Flexible class times Monday-Friday (call office to schedule: 480-355-8525)
• Certificate of completion, if required for marriage preparation will be mailed to couple after their 4th class.

Class 1: Instructor reviews the biological basis of NFP. Clients learn basic charting techniques and definitions related to the practical application of NFP.

Class 2 - 4: Review client’s chart and discuss questions. This is where NFP is truly learned as client learns through their own charting experience.

On-Going Follow-up: On-going classes available. Follow-up encouraged when patient breastfeeding

Cost: If client has insurance, NFP classes are often covered with co-pay or co-ins based on client’s insurance plan. Call Morning Star OB/GYN or insurance company to check benefits.
Regular costs $140-180.

Dr. Chavira's office is located in Central Phoenix and he delivers babies at St. Joseph's Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospitals.

She is starting the 2nd year of a four year residency to become an Ob/Gyn. She can take patients through the Maricopa County Hospital Program.

Observations are made daily of cervical mucus, vaginal sensation, basal body temperature and cervical changes and recorded with symbols on a chart. Through the instruction, clients are taught to cross-check and interpret these signs to determine fertile and infertile phases in a cycle. Individual and group instruction and follow-ups are offered.

The theological basis of NFP is presented throughout the class series. The Diocesan introduction requirement is met by completing the entire CCL class series.
