Last year , the Catholic Church celebrated the 40th anniversary of Humanae Vitae. The Phoenix Natural Family Planning Center chose to honor this event by sponsoring a conference entitled Restless Hearts: Rediscovering the Art of Living and Loving in the Modern World, which brought over 200 participants together in the desert to examine the path of life and love laid out for us by the Creator.
On that weekend, men and women from around the state of Arizona gathered at Notre Dame Preparatory to reexamine the Catholic Church’s teachings highlighted by Pope Paul VI in Humanae Vitae and further developed in the pontificates of John Paul II and Benedict XVI. Joining them was keynote speaker, Jennifer Roback-Morse as well as many of the local catechists, writers, and speakers who have brought those teachings to communities of faith.
This conference brought together youth and young adults, singles, married couples, priests and religious:most of the stages and ages in the family of our faith. Bishop Thomas Olmsted offered the closing Mass and Seton High School Band and Choir, under the direction of Mr. Tim Smith, provided the music for the beautiful closing liturgy.
