Phoenix Natural Family Planning Center currently offers the following methods of NFP:
BOMA - Billings Ovulation Method Association – USA
Observations are made of the changing or unchanging patterns women experience at the vulva. The sensation and the visual aspects of cervical mucus are recorded daily by using a Billings Method chart and either stamps or symbols. Couples are given two charts, a booklet and a packet of stamps in addition to viewing the instructor's PowerPoint presentation. There are 4 rules to this method, no temperature taking. Group instruction is offered for the first two classes. Individual follow-ups are then scheduled for at least two more sessions or until the clients are autonomous in their use of the method.
English and Spanish classes available
Group Series: $100/couple or individual
Pre-registration in advance of class is made through the PNFPC.
FAF - Family of the Americas Foundation Ovulation Method
Observations are made of the cervical mucus and sensations resulting from its presence.
A daily chart is kept by recording these observations using color-coded stickers. Proper interpretation of the fertile/infertile part of the cycle is taught in the classes. Group instruction is done for the first two classes followed by individual follow-up sessions scheduled by the client and instructor.
English and Spanish classes available
Group Series: $100/couple or individual

NWFS - Northwest Family Services Sympto-Thermal Method
Observations are made daily of cervical mucus, vaginal sensation, basal body temperature and cervical changes and recorded with symbols on a chart. Through the instruction clients are taught to cross-check and interpret these signs to determine fertile and infertile phases in a cycle.
Group instruction with client-centered learning activities and individual consultation is offered for at least four sessions. After the formal classes are completed, two follow-up meetings are scheduled to help provide client autonomy. Additional consultations are available as needed.
